The 1st Time.

I have decided to start a Blog. I don't know if this is a good thing or not. I thought, if there were other mums out there who have SPD, this might help them. I was told by my physio, when I was diagnosed, to keep a journal as this would help me cope with lifestyle changes, so I pass that advice on to you. It did work for me and helped me cope with the inevitable loss of freedom. There has been a lot of press concerning this relatively new condition and I hope that you will see it is possible to carry on. I am in pain but my GP is terrific and has helped me cope with this. I do suffer bad days, when I am bedridden, and this does prevent me from participating with my family, however hard I try not to let it. However, when I am having a good day, we all make the most of it. My condition is compounded by allergies and the fact that I take steroids, which caused me to gain a lot of weight, which I am now slowly losing. I find this difficult as I am addicted to chocolate - like those women who don't eat so that they can drink all weekend without gaining weight - I sometimes think I could do that with chocolate, but it never works as I love food. If anyone wants to know more about SPD, feel free to mail me.

I am going to include some photos of my latest craft creations, as this is the biggest thing in my life, which has replaced Air Cadets, Hill Walking, Mountain Climbing, Caving, Abseiling etc etc. Thought you might like to see them. I love papercrafting and knitting, which I find I can do even on bad days, as it is easy to do in bed!

This week I have had 1 bad day, due mainly to the fact that I have had some very early mornings. I have made cakes, as Harvey and Eliza were allowed to wear mufti today in exchange for homemade cakes - I bet you didn't know that schools today are into extortion! I made butterfly cakes. I have also made 2 mobile phone cards in a music theme for Oscar who is running his own card selling business at School. He's a future Alan Sugar - he's already made £40. I think he owes me a box of chocolates as I gave him all my 1st attempt cards.

My DH is away for a week as of tonight and I am hoping to paint my dining room, with the help of my kids. I am going for a very pink theme. I'll take some photos and let you know next week how it goes. If all goes well, I will extend the theme to my kitchen. A nice surprise for him when he returns.

I am currently putting together a teacher's emergency kit for a thank you present for Harvey and Eliza's teachers. I found some great little stamp pens with happy faces and stars on them. I am going to add star stickers and a red and green gel pen. I thought also a mini 1st aid kit including paracetamol for those stress headaches, a mini sewing kit, breath mints and a lip gloss. I've included a poll, let me know what you think. If you have any other thoughts or ideas on this, please let me know. I am going to decorate a tin and put it all in. I'll photograph it and let you know.

Thanks for reading, I'll let you all know what happens next week!
